Salinas do Grelha — Attraction in Olhão

Always wanted to get this immersive experience of floating in a saltwater lake! This is cool, the only place in Portugal where you can do this, just in case you dont have the chance or don't want to go to the actual Dead Sea in Israel. Went in August, temperature was around 25°C. There ate some inflatable pillows to help you float just in case you need. The process is very easy and simple, staff is very friendly and you can even buy some jars of mud to do at home at your convinience! Fascinating tour with Wallace. He explained the history and process of harvesting salt -- very interesting and informative. Beautiful location in the middle of the Ria Formosa -- we walked between the different salt pools to learn how it all works. There is a little store to buy some of this natural salt. Well worth a visit. Unfortunately, it was too cold for us to have a dip in the 'dead sea', but it was a nice set up and looked like a lot of fun. We highly recommend...

A wonderful relaxing and silent place in the middle of Ria Formosa. They do their best to explain all tourists how to harvest the salt with its special ingredients and taste. Show you pictures of the different steps of the harvest. If you are there have a swim in the salty dead see lake where you can drift weightlessly on the water.
