Agroal — Attraction in Ourém

Lovely place, even when we went, on a Sunday, when it's well visited by locals. Less crowd during the week. Beach area, with imported sand, with parasols, Trees around create extra shade. You can swim in the river or in the pool, but it's jolly cold! Our grandchildren had a great time burying each other in the sand. We also explored further down the river on foot. There are paths. Good cafés with a choice of snack meals and more formal eating. Parking not easy. You need to get there early to get parking close by, but the walk to the more distant parking is only 10 minutes or so on a lovely boardwalk through the trees, beside the river. Happily done by our 4 year...

It's been almost a year since I've last visited. A beautiful area with lots of walks along the river and also boasts a stunning river beach and natural water walled swimming pool. Quieter during the winter but extremely popular during the summer months. There is a lovely café restaurant just above the natural swimming pool although it's closed during winter apart from Sunday's when it caters for the popular "lunchtime" Portuguese eating out...

Quem conheceu o Agroal há 5, 10, 15 ou 20 anos atrás vai perceber as diferenças para o local que hoje é.

Se outrora era um estância de resolução de problemas de pele e de ossos, tendo em conta as características medicinais da água pura da nascente, hoje em dia é um local.....digamos que gentrificado.

Ainda assim o município de Ourém melhorou os espaços de lazer e o estacionamento aumentou, com 200 lugares disponíveis para quem quiser andar menos de 800m até ao local de banhos.

Nada a dizer sobre a envolvência, afinal estamos num vale rodeado de árvores e animais, aqui não considero animal o que se diz de ser humano, já que esse só lá vai estragar....mas é assim a vida.

Valeu cada km para lá chegar, mas fica a dica, sabem aqueles dias de inverno que não se consegue tomar duche porque acabou o gás?🤣 Assim é a temperatura da água no Agroal super fresca👍❤️ e maravilhosa.

Mais uma ideia gira, quem for não suje não estrague e preserve um local lindo que a natureza...
