I understand that this river beach is situated at the confluence of an underground river and an ordinary river. At the actual confluence they have built a dam to trap the water and behind the dam is a pool, which you can swim in, and you can probably see in the pictures. The aforementioned aspect of it makes it unusual and interesting in its self but it's a pleasant place to come and bath or picnic even without this unusual feature. You can just bath in the normal river if you prefer. There are some places to eat but I have never tried them. I have been here a few times. I like the pool at the confluence, more than just damning the river in...
Read moreVery lovely spot in the mountains with a river running through. Suggested walking routes are clearly marked. There is an Icy cold natural spring water pool. It's very refreshing to swim in. I understand that people visit and bathe for the properties of the water. The restaurant with air conditioning was open. We chose to be seated outside and enjoyed a substatial lunch. There is some vegetarian food on the menu. Good bathroom facilities in the restaurant. No public changing facilities were open, as too early in the season, and the museum / cafe does not open until July/August. Designated spaces with sunshades in the seating/sunbathing areas for...

The Agroal fluvial beach sits in a narrow valley, surrounded by trees. It's water is fresh and looks very clean (you can even find fish!), but the mountains and trees shield it from wind, so it doesn't get too cold. It also has some very convenient amenities nearby.
However, being such a nice and inexpensive place has made it quite an attraction. So, unless you love noise and overcrowded places, i recommend that you avoid it at all costs during high season (around July...
