Lima Fortuna | LF Spirits - Home of the Arrabidine liqueur — Attraction in Palmela

This place makes and sells its own spirits, explains the process, and offers tastings (four different samples) and tours of its facilities. The product is tasty and is of high quality. Sofia, the General Director who ran our tasting, speaks clear, rich English and is very knowledgeable and friendly. Worth noting is that the whole place is exceptionally accessible to wheelchair users. A member of the family that owns and runs it has mobility issues, so they've made the very best of it by making all the premises accessible--something of a rarity for Portugal, but of great use to me as I rehab my broken leg. Great place to come by and try their home-produced liquors, artisanal jams, and local pastry. The family — who produces the liquors and runs the place — also gives group tours, where you can try out not only their liquors but also regional cheese, bread and jam. I came with friends on a tour and our host was happy to explain all the history and questions we had.
