Not particularly great.
The calderas are less spectacular than the ones in Furnas itself. Also, there is an entrance fee of 3 euro per person - not per car - which is nonsensical if you ask me.
If you want to enter the "trail", an additional fee of 10 euro p.p. is required, which I find a bit odd. We chose not to do that, but walk alongside the lake to the chapel instead. That walk was nice.
The little café was nice though. You can order drinks and local food that they prepare on the calderas. It is nicely located under the trees. There was a friendly cat that welcomed us.
If you have an extra (half of a) day, you might as well visit this place. But it is by no means a must-see...

Read moreCame out here during the Covid summer of 2021 and had a bizarrely amazing experience, partly because the place was more or less deserted. Take out a pedalo (hire from the amusingly cantankerous ice cream man), for truly breathtaking views on a clear day.
