I visited the old "Fabrica" where they were processing the whales to make oil from them at the middle of 20th century. It is now (since 2015) a museum, where the entrance is very cheap (I think I payed just 2e for entrance). The museum is interesting, set up according to modern museology, with pictures, old whaling tools, a lot of information, an interesting video and more. Spend possibly 45 minutes inside and was impressed. This was the best visit of whaling industry museum I did in the Azores, as I visited another two whaling museums in Pico island.
