We are naturist and Praia do Meco (lagoa da Albufeira) is just the perfect beach. We notice a TST bus in the village nearby but that is more than 1km away from the beach, so the best way to get there is by car. The beach is easy to find, just Google it. There is ample parking (We paid €1/day, some parking spaces might be more expensive).
Their is a place to eat and drink (including toilets) but we haven't consumed anything so not sure about prices and quality of food and drinks but they have a big terrace surrounded by glass panels to protect from the wind.
On the right side of it (facing the ocean) is the textile beach, on the left the naturist beach. Both are very long and wide and, as far as I noticed, clean. People do take care of their beaches here.
The waves are quite high and when they withdraw, they easily drag you back to the deep, so those of you who are not too good swimmers, beware, especially children. Keep an eye on them at all times
We did not find the sea water that cold actually, when we came here last time (3 Feb) the water seemed to be 18 degrees or so. In fact, once inside, it was quite pleasant, especially when the outside temperature is 20 degrees Celsius. As the beach season here is from May to end Sep, most of the beach was more or less empty unlike in Summer when loads of people come over for the day. Luckily the beach is long and wide so there is plenty of privacy (if you wish).
Walking around naked, sunbathing and swimming in the sea is done by hundreds of people here. Everyone should try it at least once! :)
I very much recommend this beach.
Side note I have noticed that the naturist beach is often less crowded than the textile beach, and this sometimes lures people from the textile beach to settle down onto the naturist beach, BUT they stay dressed. Naturists don't like that and find their privacy being infringed.
Our message to them is clear:
*Everybody Welcome, But Be Naked And Walk Around Naked Like We Do… or….. Move Back To The Textile...

There's a life-guard watched area (with beach bars and sunshades / loungers for hire) and - for the adventurous or the curious - there's also a section of beach where clothing is optional (approx 100 metres on the left after the main beach access ** the life-guards don't operate in this area.
Just one of those places that feels like Heaven on Earth. Praia do Meco faces perfectly West, which means you can sit anywhere on the beach and watch a stunning sunset unfold right before your eyes.
The coastline here has a wilder feel to it - the day we visited there were big rollers on the ocean with all the sound and spray of crashing waves. The beach itself is vast and stretches out in both directions so you can easily find a spot to yourself if you want, or if you prefer some hustle and bustle there are two beach bars right next to each other by the car park (which provides shaded parking and only costs 1 Euro for the...
