The boat tour through the Sado River estuary nature reserve was an unforgettable experience! The guides, a father and son team who are locals, were not only friendly but also incredibly knowledgeable about the area and bird species. Their deep connection to the region shone through as they enthusiastically shared insights about the surroundings and the diverse birdlife found in this unique environment. The tour was long enough to fully enjoy the scenery and spot many different species of birds. For photography enthusiasts, it was a paradise, with plenty of opportunities to capture both large and small birds in their natural habitat. The highlight of our trip was, without a doubt, the flocks of graceful flamingos gliding over the calm water. If you're looking to see as many birds as possible in the Sado River estuary or simply want to enjoy a peaceful boat ride with stunning views, this tour is for you! Thank you, Carlos, for kindly organising this birdwatching trip for us! ❤️ With love from Estonia!

Father and son Carlos know the estuary and birds in it extremely well. We had visited Morinho de Mare da Marisca and seen some birds but didn't realise how many species are there. Saw flamingoes, ospreys holding fish, curlews, shell ducks, cormorants, dunlin, marsh harriers, common kestrel, chiffchaff, redshanks, Egyptian goose, glossy ibis, meadow pipit, gulls, oyster catchers, black necked grebe. Autumn/winter is the best time to see the most birds. It was a beautiful sunny day but cold on the water, we were grateful for the blankets and hot tea provided. Very good value for a hugely informative and brilliant experience.

This tour was absolutely fantastic! The boat ride was 3 hours through the Sado area and our guide told us in several languages which birds we were viewing and the ride was comfortable. He lent us binoculars since we didn’t have ours and he even ended the trip with a taste of local wine. I would highly recommend this for serious birders and nature enthusiasts also.

My daughter and I had an unforgettable experience with MiraSado Estuary Boat Tours in Setúbal, thanks to the amazing father-and-son team, both named Carlos. From the moment we stepped aboard their comfortable boat, we felt welcomed and at ease. Both Carloses were not only kind and hospitable but also impressively knowledgeable about the birdlife in the region. Their enthusiasm for birdwatching was infectious, and it was clear that they genuinely care about the well-being of the birds. We were especially impressed by their incredible ability to spot a wide variety of bird species, including the majestic flamingos. What stood out most was their depth of knowledge about each bird—where they migrated from and their importance to the ecosystem. Their passion for avian life made the experience even more special, and my daughter and I came away with a much deeper appreciation for the birdlife in the estuary. Overall, this tour was a perfect combination of relaxation, education, and adventure. If you’re in Setúbal and have any interest in nature, I highly recommend this tour. Carlos and Carlos will make sure it’s an experience you...

🌟 An unforgettable and authentic experience! 🌟

I had the chance to take part in a birdwatching activity in the Sado Estuary last Friday, and I’m still in awe of the experience. The diversity of bird species and the stunning landscapes were absolutely captivating.

What truly made this outing special, however, was the presence of Carlos Miguel and his father—two extraordinary guides with a deep passion for nature. Their father-son bond, expertise, and enthusiasm brought a unique and personal touch to the activity.

The father, with his vast experience and fascinating stories, gave us a fresh perspective on the estuary, while Carlos Miguel, with his infectious energy and sharp knowledge of birds, added a vibrant and dynamic element. Together, they created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making us feel like we were sharing a precious family moment.

I wholeheartedly recommend this activity to anyone looking not just to explore the incredible natural richness of the Sado Estuary, but also to enjoy an authentic experience filled with meaningful exchanges and emotions. Thank you, Carlos Miguel and his father, for this magical...
