Pérola da Mourisca — Restaurant in Setúbal

We were visiting the nearby Reserva Natural do Estuário do Sado and decided to try Pérola da Mourisca for lunch. Attentive wait staff with solid English skills. The food was fantastic, with our favorite being the quail eggs on toast with prosciutto (I think). Choco Frito was perfect, as were the clams in garlic. A particular shout out to the house white wine which is from the Setúbal region. We thought it perfect with the seafood. Definitely will be back with friends for dinner. Truly excellent food. We were there as a group of 4 and we shared a variety of starters and seafood. Everything was of outstanding quality and flavour. Of particular note - the blood sausage topped with chèvre and jam; crab paste!!!; fried prawns. Nevertheless, everything we had was very very good.

Slightly out of the way (which makes it that extra special) restaurant, established in 1979. Its long history is undoubtedly testimount to its dedicated focus on seafood. Standout dishes include stuffed peppers with crab, and deep fried mini squid. The restaurant opens at 7pm, and 15 minutes prior, locals arrive to secure a table so booking is recommended but not always necessary.
