As a party of 7 adults we were amazed of what a varied tour we had, all thoroughly enjoying our experiences. We not only learnt about every aspect of wine making from its history, to it’s cultivating, to its marketing plus more but we also also learnt about the property’s and it’s family’s history, making it a more personal experience. Tour size groups were small enough that we felt like customers’ best interest was at the centre of it all, never being rushed and always given the chance to ask questions. Pedro our tour guide was amazing, so knowledgeable, conveying this in such a captivating way to all. The wine tasting was enjoyable and has taught us all how to drink wine in a way to enjoy it in another level. Thank you to everyone at Casal Sta Maria Colares who made this such a positive memory. We...

Absolutely one of the most pleasant experiences of my life. At first when I arrived at the door, I was welcome by an amazing staff of such place, as I was offered one of the most tasty wines I have ever tried in my life. Coming from a person who has travelled and visited several vineyards through my existance, this can be assured to be absolutely the best ! I was carefully explained the history of the fine place in which Casal Santa Maria is located, accompanied by a wonderfull barbecue made by the wonderfull staff the place offers. During my visit I believe I made a new friend, the owners dog called Otto, a fine labrador in which I figured out it was the son of a Canadian champion. A indescribable experience in which I would be happy to repeat. 5 star reviews for the most breath taking vineyard I have...

Left with a couple bottles of wine 🍷 and absolutely loved the dogs! 🥰

Cute, family-owned, winery. It’s small enough that the wine tasting occurs in the owner’s home, but in a section that functions for business/tastings. Great views of the town and ocean from all the glass windows. The owners are friendly and welcoming. We took a tour with Carlos as our guide. I really enjoyed learning about the how this winery started. The husband and wife who started the winery are grandparents of the current owner and the founder was 96 years when he started the winery. He passed away in 2016 at the age of 106!

I’d say it’s...

We showed up with no appointment but Lucas was absolutely charming and professional. The four of us had an awesome tasting with a complete history of the winery and the founder - which is very interesting. The wines vary in quality but are priced appropriately. Lucas was very knowledgeable about the wines and the wine making. He gave us a tour of the grounds and the cellars. While the winery has a deep appreciation of the history of wine making in the region they also use modern equipment and techniques. We ended up purchasing several half bottles of the Colares Ramisco as well as the Sauvignon Blanc and even a Rose.

Got there with no reservations, but we were super well hosted, tasted some wine, learned about the rich history of the place and its wine. We walked around after the staff showed us where to go and what to see on our own, with a glass in hand. The barrels and wine making areas are only showed in booked tours but having no expectations , it didn’t bother us at all, after all they don’t have infinite staff to show people the massive estate all the time. There is a gate and parking too :)
