This place is a lottery. It might go good, and it might not. When we came with a desire to try fish, we soon found out that they only had meet left. The options are porc, beef and chicken, and the frying guy decides himself how you want it. Had to work our muscles a bit to cut the meat, some of the pieces were quite "rare". Also, if you don't eat a lot of oily food, prepare to feel your pancreas. This place seems to have only one waitress who frantically tries to serve over 20 people. I believe she's very nice person, but the circumstances are not stimulating. She was nice to give us a desert to go. But we only found out that wine was included in the menu after we paid. At the end it was 15 euro for two, so no big deal. The...

This is one of those of the beaten path hidden places, that you find out about from other people that have been there.

As the name suggests, it's a good pit stop for cyclists on their tours. Or for surfing school students with their trainers. Or for hungry locals. Or for grill die hard fans!

They have meat in all forms, shapes and sizes for the grill. My friend said that after finishing his plate stacked with grilled meat, he couldn't even think of eating meat again for a few days!

The prices are also unbeatable! Soup, main course, desert and wine for 2 persons = 23 EUR.

Be mindful, though - this is a meat eaters paradise, so not many...

You have to go here because of the drive up (and down) the mountain. It’s really fun and a beautiful area. The restaurant itself is pretty basic. But they charge only € 12 for a meal (bread, main course, small desert). The main course is bbqed. You can choose your preferred meat or fish and it is served with a bit of fries, rice or potato. No sauces of spices. It’s very simple but ok. Do visit for a nice location and a simple meal at low cost! Parking is a bit of a challenge as it is very narrow and can get busy.

IMPORTANT: There is a coffee that is part of the restaurant that opens at 8:00 and closes at 20:00. The coffee and the restaurant are owned by the same person so they have the same name but there different places. About the coffee: Modest and cozy coffee/restaurant in the center of Penedo. Great for a breakfast, food or even some beers when the weather is good. Very friendly owner and nice surroundings in this typical beautiful Portuguese village. Very zen vibes around
