The waterfall in itself is nice, but the rest! Parked a car not at the nearest place, but slightly afar - was met with a furious barking of a big dog throwing itself on the gate so that it shook... such a shock. I recommend parking as near the waterfall as you can... The area resembles slums: ruined buildings and graffiti. Some people may like it. But looks creepy in the dusk. I met no one there, though, and was safe. Now the path to the waterfall isn't exactly dangerous, but rather unsafe to walk when it's wet. There are slippery stones, dead leaves and a big boulder which you have to climb over using your hands (it's safer so). You can't approach too close unless you want to risk a bit. Sadly, the waterfall itself was dirty, as someone threw rubbish there (pumpkins and fruit, probably pagan offerings or left from Halloween, all rotten and ugly). I felt very sad and disappointed. Of course one can still take nice pictures there... as well as ugly ones. I annex both. It's up to you to decide whether you want to give it...

Fervenca Waterfall, located near the main road in Pero Pinheiro, Sintra, is a hidden gem for nature lovers. This small but captivating waterfall offers a serene escape from the bustling surroundings. The peaceful sound of the cascading water, combined with the lush greenery, creates a perfect spot for relaxation and reflection. Though it's easily accessible, its charm lies in its natural beauty, which feels like a secret retreat. The area surrounding the waterfall is also ideal for a leisurely walk, making it a lovely stop for those exploring the Sintra region. Whether you’re seeking tranquility or simply want to enjoy a moment in nature, Fervenca Waterfall is...

Agree with other reviews- it's sad the state of what could be a beauitful place. Ok to visit if you reconsider your expectation of the word "waterfall". Don't go expecting beautiful scenery, don't go expecting to swim or sunbathe. Wear sturdy shoes- lots of glass and rubbish. Also a few minutes walk along a busy main road from the bus stop. But an interesting visit if you like a bit of an alternative picnic spot. And if you scramble up off the path there's an abandoned building with funky graffiti which makes a...
