Nice little beach. There is a food and drink van selling kebab, coffee and the usual drinks and food. An old industrial building for who knows what sits just behind the beach with two large fig trees in it. It smells like the beach toilet though. To the right there are some very old buildings falling into the beach and sea. They are purported to be Roman, but like so many things here there are no information boards. Parking is plentiful and good quality as you can see from satellite view.

The beach can be beautiful but too many caravans and campers who do not appreciate what they have . They litter the place and let their dogs run around free leaving behind little unpleasant 'presents! On the other hand I visited the Archeological digs and my congratulations go yo thst team - a group of young Archeologists doing a terrific job. No easy task, I tell you. They cleaned up quite substantially .

Amazing beach, the day I was here there was no more than 10 people on the whole beach. Had an amazing day walking down the rocks and looking at amazing cliffs, water was freezing as to be expected. It was a little bit more secluded from the wind unlike other beaches heading down to Sagres. Highly recommend stopping off here if you have the time.

I had my phone out and had already begun my Google for the Greenpeace emergency helpline when thankfully I glanced up and saw my mistake...

It wasn't a pod of whales that had got beached, oh no, it was the British tourists that have arrived.

Bottles of beer all around, lots of shouting about how everyone else was being noisy and how foreigners can't get things right.

Pink and glistening in the sun, one or two already bright red, they bask, only occasionally standing to wander around in search of chips.

Indeed, the...
