One of my favourite places of all time. I used to come here all the time and I still try to go as many times as I can. It's a gorgeous place and, in my opinion, severely underrated by the locals. There is a lot of love in this place - the animals are very well taken care of and the carers are always happy to chat about them. I once even had a private tour by one of them without even asking for one. The entrance currently costs 3 euros for an adult ticket. You can easily spend a whole morning here and you can see all sorts of birds, otters, ferrets, deer and farm animals. The park is also known for its variety of plants and trees and is famous for rescuing many animals that end up getting hurt by the shore or in the woods. They have a restaurant and accommodation if you need it. Overall, it's a wonderful place that you should visit...

Keep in mind: Most communities in Portugal offer this for free..... You still have to get to Porto (one direction, Taxi 10-15 Euro, via bus and metro will be similar but a bit more complicated to organise). Most annoying though are the very unfriendly and unsupportive ladies at the reception..... if you don't want to have guests with mobile homes, please rather close this service. Next time I'll drive rather to downtown on a bigger parking slot ...

The animal habitats are very pretty, clean and well maintained. There's more than enough to see, plenty of shade for hot days, restrooms throughout and comfortable walkways. Take a stroller if you want to see everything. The restaurant was not operational but just next to it, it had seating areas for picnics and a small playground. At the entrance there are vending machines for snacks and drinks, else located nearby is a supermarket. Would love to return in another season to see the...
