ICON Training Centre — Attraction in Doha

Icon Learning Centre is one of the most unprofessional education institute. I joined their TKT course in Nov 2017, where they promised a lot of things and one the commitments was the course will end in 3 months. Since I come from a non teaching background they said I can easily get a job in a school into teaching if I took this course. I was willing to take 3 courses for getting a job in school. They also promised placements. They just kept if prolonging the course. They could not even coordinate to get the exam dates from British council and kept on postponing it from jan to March. When I joined the batch we were a team of 12-15 participants. Due to their unprofessional and irrelevant coaching only 6-7 were left. Most of them left for some reason or other. They even charged the exam fees. And when I decided to drop out they did not even refund the exam fees. Forget refunding the course fees. They will reschedule classes without notification. They will just take a read through the course material provided. They say they have experienced trainers. But they have immature trainers. For phonics topic they said we have someone coming from British council to train us. Which was false. And in the name of native trainer they have someone who only boasts about her accents and throughout the class differentiates about the native and nonnative speakers. When everyone in the class report this to the management. They replaced someone after 1 month. Even that trainer just left after few classes without any notification. They are charging very high. And above all they give u all false promises and half information. After I joined the course and paid fees they told me I need to complete 100 teaching hours. For which they will give me students. Later I found out that they are taking fees from students who are enrolling with the institutes to learn and improve English. And they are making us work for free in name of completing 100 hours. And they are telling those enrolled students that they will get to improve their skills with trained staf on I found out that only TKT doesn’t help to get a job in school. You have to have a professional teaching degree or diploma. TKT can later be as an added advantage. I have been following up with them to refund my fees and they do not even bother to reply back. Later And then they tell me since I am posting about them on Facebook so Management ya decided not to give my refund. I wasted my money and 3 months with them. And eventually...

In addition to my time with Dr. Saif and Sir Muhammad Aamir, I also pursued several short courses at ICON. The support and dedication of the trainers across these programs have been equally exceptional. Each trainer brought valuable expertise and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure that every student grasped the concepts thoroughly and felt empowered in their learning.

Beyond the lectures, the support staff at ICON form an exceptional team. Their warmth, attentiveness, and constant readiness to assist create an environment where students feel truly heard, valued, and supported. The atmosphere at ICON is not only academically nurturing but also officially recognised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar — a testament to its credibility and commitment to excellence.
