Read moreNormally I add pictures to my reviews but I didn't take my phone inside cause it's a water park after all. But I'll try to be as descriptive with words as possible.
Overall the experience was super nice. Shout-out to Rodel, who was one of the supervisors we met there who honestly made this a truly memorable experience. Also big thank you to Paul the lifeguard who accompanied us on rides that required 3 or more people. Absolute legend he is.
RIDES: The rides are super fun and safe and some are actually cause quite the adrenaline rush (especially the vertical slides). The Rig, which is the big oil rig looking slide posted in the pictures is truly the best part of the entire park. There are fun casual rides and slides for the less daring and some really crazy ones for those looking to test their hearts. The rollercoaster wasn't open yet but it looked absolute fire. Excited to go back and try that. There are also nice chairs by the beech and water where people can just sit and chill.
STAFF & SAFETY: The staff is super friendly and helpful. There's a lifeguard practically every 20 meters and there's always someone there to help you out or explain something. They are also friendly yet professional which makes you confident that they know what they're doing.
WAIT TIMES: The wait times were non existent as we went during a weekday. I think there were a total of 30-40 people there which spread out across a huge park honestly makes you feel like the place is just for you (not the rig though, that's quite the popular spot). Overall very convenient and we did most rides multiple times.
FOOD: We didn't try the food but there were quite a few options there (asian, Italian, "international"). Don't know for sure, but they're probably overpriced as expected.
DO's & DONT's:
Bring your own towels because they charge a ludicrous 50 QAR per towel.
Carry minimal stuff with you because lockers charge 50-100 QAR, depending on their size. I got a medium one which was more than enough for me because I took too much stuff with me inside.
Don't wear a cotton t-shirt or any non swimwear outfits because they're quite strict about that. Proper swimwear and sports shirts are the way to go.
take sunscreen cause it's super sunny all the time in Doha and wrinkles are bad :)
Overall I look forward to visiting again. There's a B1G1 promotion till the 29th of Feb so do try to avail that!
Much needed addition of fun things...
Read moreWHO IS THIS FOR? Meryal Waterpark is great for families and friends looking for a fun-filled day of water rides 🌊. If you prefer shorter wait times, definitely go during the school term, as the park can get extremely busy during breaks.
DETAILED FINDINGS: 🎢 ATTRACTIONS/ACTIVITIES: During the school term, the wait times for most rides were manageable, averaging 15-20 minutes. However, during school breaks, friends have experienced much longer waits—up to 40-60 minutes per ride. 🌊 SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS: The park is clean, and the staff are remarkable—super friendly and helpful throughout the day. So many lifeguards on duty. 🏞️ OVERALL ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming during the school term, making it a good time to visit.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE: Unfortunately, the top-level slides (Level 6) were disappointing. One slide wasn’t operational, and the second (orange) had ongoing sensor issues. After waiting an exhausting 1 hour and 20 minutes, I never got to ride the top slide. Complained to the manager, filled in a form, and received a prompt email response that night. Hopefully, next time I visit, the top slides will be working. Despite the issues with the top slides, I enjoyed most of the other rides and the overall experience. The staff really made a difference with their attentiveness.
PERSONAL REVIEW CATEGORIES: 🏖️ FACILITIES: Changing rooms and seating areas were well-maintained 🚻 RESTROOMS: Clean and easy to access throughout the park. 👨👩👧👦 FAMILY-FRIENDLINESS: Great for families, with plenty of rides suitable for all ages. 🍕 FOOD AND SNACKS: Plenty of options, though a bit pricey. 🏅 VALUE FOR MONEY: Would have been excellent if the top slides were functioning properly. Hopefully, they’ll be sorted out on my next visit! If you found this review helpful,
