A totally hidden gem and attraction in Canmore (as in really literally hidden at the back of an off leash dog park!). We only came to know about the lake thru the street signs we saw along the road, on our way to Grassi Lake. We wanted to come this lake because we wanted to go for a picnic, once we have finished our hiking at Grassi Lake. So using Google Maps, we tried locating the lake but instead it brought us to an upscale residential area, with no signs of any lake (we tried exploring at the back of the trees, then we could see a glimpse of a lake in the distance but we just did not know how to get there). It was only when we put in “Quarry Lake Parking” in Google Maps that it brought us to a parking area where only an off leash park was visible. Although there is a sign outside (before we get into the parking lot) that says, “Quarry Park Lake”, once you get into parking you would not see any lake) It is a good lake for bathing even with small kids because there is a shallow and safe portion at the northern part of the lake. When we went there yesterday, there were lots of kid playing both in the water and sand. It is also good for boating for whole families because it is just a small lake. And an added bonus, the mountain views are breathtaking.

Terrible !!! Horrible !!! They deleted my review!!!!!! I visited this place with my family this August , We are newcomer and we paid 2hours parking fee. Because my kid enjoyed playing one friend who is from a birthday party ,and we left for late a few minutes, then they gave us a parking penalty ticket $45 !!! The worker’s attitude is so bad!!!We are unhappy with that and won’t visit again in the future! Just a small lake, but parking fee is 10/h, 75/day! You have to pay each 2hours.It is so expensive!!!It is not worthy. If they continue deleting my review, I will continue to tell visitors the truth 。 I

What a beautiful lake. There were so many Elks in the park it was unbelievable, so magical ✨️ Don't be scared of them give them space and carry on your walk. There is paid parking available. There are restrooms located near the parking lot. It can get pretty dark at night. There are no pets allowed at Quarry Lake... but there is an off leash area zone for dogs. I'm assuming due to the wildlife near the lake. There are a few Picnic tables right near the lake with beautiful views of the moutain and surrounding space. There are life jackets located on the information board free for you to use.

I recently visited Quarry Lake Park with my family on a hot summer day and we had an absolute blast! The park is truly a gem, offering a beautiful lake, playgrounds, and plenty of green space to run around. The kids loved swimming in the lake and playing in the water, while I appreciated the shaded areas and picnic tables. My only minor complaint is that the parking fee was a bit steep, but it was well worth it for the wonderful time we had. Overall, Quarry Lake Park is a must-visit destination for families looking to beat the heat and create lasting memories. We can't wait to go back!"

This was a nice park and great for walking your dogs. There was an off leash dog park at the park entrance which was very nice. When you start walking towards the lake you have to put your dog back on the leash which is fine. The walk isn’t a long one so if your looking for something more you can head off into the other trails around the area which will give you more advanced trails. But overall for a nice little afternoon walk It was great and would recommend It for people just wanting to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.

A very accessible lake right off the main highway. It’s a beautiful lake and there’s a short loop around it and anyone can really do from elders, kids and anyone in between. It’s a beautiful lake with a great reflection. There are life jackets if anyone wants to take a dip in the lake. There are picnic areas too if anyone wants to enjoy a snack or lunch.Even though online it says that there is a cliff jump. there really isn’t any place to do a cliff jump, but I came when the water was high, so maybe you could?
