Mikó Citadel — Attraction in Miercurea Ciuc

Former castle that now houses the local museum. The architecture is grand, and I like the little touches around. From outside the building is quite striking. There is a lot of information in a few languages and the staff are quite friendly and eager to offer help. Staff doesn't speak English. The museum is quite Hungarian in its displays

Castelul este mare si impozant, bine conservat - poate si datorita faptului ca in comunism a fost folosit tot ca muzeu. In curtea interioara se pregatea scena si cadrul pentru seri de teatru si de proiectie de film. Salile muzeului, mari si luminoase - gasesti in ele expozitii permanente si altele itinerante. Cele permanente reflecta specificul locului - viata, obiceiurile, mestesugurile, portul popular, mobila, etc. Manechine foarte frumoase, obiectele bine prezentate si reprezentative. Grinda de lemn evidentiata atat la parter cat si la etaj iti arata grandoarea constructiei. Grosimea peretilor este si ea un detaliu impresionant, La final langa fantana din castel, o poveste animata, cu filmulete gandite cu mult umor . Am iesit zambind larg, muzeul este atat vechi cat si modern. Merita vazut din plin. In parcare, o vulpe frumusica, urmarea o pisica neagra, parca sa o sperie. Very well designed museum, enough artifacts to get a feeling of the citadel and towns history but not to much in order to get bored.
