Definitely worth it. The landscape is simply amazing and lived up to our expectations: the colors of the lake were unreal, the view from the top of it gave us a very unique feeling, the extinct vulcano was very interesting to see (and gave us the change to achieve our steps goal for the day - as it is not a very short walk) and also the basalt columns were nice to visit. We stayed several hours as we wanted to enjoy the view (and the silence) and it was very very relaxing. Tips&tricks: • make sure you have some money with you - entrance is payed (20 ron/person); • you can take a blanket with you and enjoy your homemade sandwiches on the route; • make sure you are properly equipped for the entire trip - shoes are very important (the road could have some difficult spots); •don't forget the sunscreen and also, you should have a hat with you. • give yourself time to enjoy everything

the only thing we didn't liked was the road until the parking - it seemed worst than the usual country road I think the lake and the columns can be visited with the kids (you need to take extra care of them as the margins are not very well flagged in some places) or with the elderly. Not sure about the trip to the vulcano - for some of them could be really...

Amazing place, very well maintained, everything is organized perfectly. Peace and quiet all around, lush green nature, fresh air, beautiful hills, and woods within walking distance. Lake with crystal clear water and reflecting green-blue shades, like a magical mirror against the blue spring sky. You can spend hours walking around the lake, up on the hill to see the sleeping volcano crather. Down in the valley, you will find the basalt columns, if you are friendly and quiet enough, you can hear them whispering. Just a few suggestions for the visitors, if you have a good camera, bring it with you, it is the perfect companion and for sure there will be plenty of moments "to catch". Don't miss visiting the castle and its ruins in the village! Keep your heart and...

A hidden gem nestled in Romania’s Carpathian Mountains, this stunning lake lives up to its name with vibrant emerald-green waters created by mineral deposits reflecting sunlight. Surrounded by dense forests and rugged cliffs, it offers serene hiking trails and photo opportunities at every turn. Though swimming is prohibited, the peaceful atmosphere and untouched beauty make it perfect for nature lovers seeking tranquility. Tip: Visit in early morning for the best light and...
