On the route to Medias we suddenly sighted an imposing fortress ruin on a mountain in the evening sun: the Stolzenburg in Slimnic. The road there is more like a bad footpath due to roadworks, I think it will be better in the future. As we arrive at the castle, we can see that you can visit it. Its even inhabited. The entrance fee is 3 lei per person (5 lei = 1 euro). No parking, you just park on the road. Maybe its a good idea to leave the car down in the village. Look online for the history of the place as well, for more details about ottomans, plague...
