I really struggled to find information about this waterfall , so sharing my experience. The coordinates for the car are 46.96192 N, 22.51227 E. Just follow the Google maps, at the end it’s really well sign-posted. At the end google directs to drive over the bridge, but it’s closed for the transport. Instead there is huge parking to the left, park there, then walk over the bridge and turn left and follow the path along the river. Path goes up and down, but in total it takes about 30-40 minutes to reach the waterfall. To get to the base you need to take very slippery path down, so don’t recommend hiking there in wet weather. Waterfall is not big but very-very pretty. After admiring it, make sure you pip into the cave above, yiu can see water falling inside the cave. Now you’ve got two options - you can either walk back the same way or walk a bit forward (5 minutes or so), cross the bridge and walk back on the opposite side river bank along very boring gravel path. The only advantage is that you can see the waterfall from the opposite bank. All circular route with all the stops took...
Read moreYou need to take a hike through the mountains to get there... as long as you have appropriate shoes (not sandals like I did), it is a great hike! It is a bit difficult with a 2 years 3 minth old child, but if you have a great strong husband like mine, it is possible. The waterfall is not too big but it is lovely; the water is ice cold but the water in the river was really warm (heat wave hit Romania during this time). The Vadu Crisului cave is just above the waterfall, but we had to give it a skip this time. As you pass the entrance of the cave, within 250m (roughly), there is a bridge over the river that takes you to a terrace (bar) placed in an old train station. Then we went back to the car following the old railway 🛤 and included going under a small tunnel. We...
Read moreNice hike, totally worth it. The waterfall itself is not a big deal, but the scenery along the path is beautiful. The circle marked route is a bit difficult if you have kids under 5, you might have to carry them as the path is only 2-3 feet wide in places and dangerous especially if it is wet. You can consider walking along the railroad track on the other side of the river but have your ears wide open to hear the trains. In some places there is not much room and a passing train 2 feet away could be a bit scary for a little kid. And there is a 50-60m tunnel. Overall, nice way to spend few hours. And in the Autumn is just...
