Nice place to take a break in the nature. Impressive rock formations for those who want to take up rock climbing. I did that almost 30 years ago... Now I enjoy just hiking there. Lots of bbq olimpics, mainly in the weekend... But hey, if the local authorities build bbq places, ppl will use them. The trails go up to Poiana Brasov. I prefer the less crowded path, the one use by the forest rangers not the 'old road' to Poiana Brasov. From the bus station follow the river. There's no indicators, but when going up just take every right and you'll end up in Poiana Brasov. It's a good trail to go up on the bike. And come back down on the other dirt road, the one know as...

Solomon's Rocks, steeped in Dacian legends, hold a rich history evidenced by archaeological findings of a fortress dating back to Neolithic times. One legend describes how the rocks were formed when a cursed Hungarian king, Solomon, fell into the abyss. Another legend speaks of Solomonars, wizards residing in the mountains, who control the rain. Regardless of their origin, the rocks offer breathtaking views, attracting visitors for hiking, mountain biking, and relaxation. The area's fresh air and therapeutic waters contribute to its appeal as a healing destination. Easily accessible by bus 50 from...

I walked here from Schei. I should have taken the bus uphill to the end of the line. It was a warm Easter Sunday so there were a bit too many people. The car park was full. Although many bbq facilities have been provided (pits & tables), there were no concessions operating, so no cold drinks or ice creams were to be had. Despite all these people pressures there was hardly any litter, which was very pleasing. I am sure it is quieter mid week. I took the bus back to Schei. I should have walked back down hill but I was knackered.

One of the best places to spend some time in nature close to a big town, if not THE BEST in this country. The little river is perfect, you can wash food or other things in it, you can put your drinks in it so they will stay really cool, if you climb a little bit you can find 2 fresh springs, with really good and cold water. The place is perfect for relaxing, drinking a beer and making a nice grill or maybe.. just a little camp fire to get warmer when it.s going dark. I will always love this beautiful piece of haven <3
