We had a wonderful experience at Tet Paul ! The staff welcomed us with warm smiles and a very comfortable easy going energy.
I would highly recommend doing that very accessible trail, some of the nicest views of the south of the island. It’s 10$/person at the entrance and the guide is included.
Jeral (or Jarell, not sure how it’s spelled) was our guide, he was very patient, kind and knowledgeable. He took us on a whole cultural and geographical hike, telling us about the fauna and flora of the island and stopping at many different viewpoints. He told us about all the different mountain peaks, the main occupations of the local people living on the coast & in-land, the many historical events that occurred in the past and how the Pitons developped to be such phenomenal peaks.
They were super friendly and made us laugh a lot ! Overall, very very good experience over there and amazing views of the Gros Piton, Petit Piton and Mount Gimie.
Make sure you go all the way to the end of the road once you start going up !!
Thank you guys for the many shared laughs and for taking good care of my...
Read moreThis is a lovely, straightforward hike with fantastic views of the Pitons and Sugar Beach. It takes 45 minutes - 1 hour to complete, depending on fitness levels. The main trail at the top of the hill (if following Google Maps) is currently closed. There is a free car park there, but the trail itself is roped off. Instead you can follow the sign for the "Tet Paul Community Project" which will direct you left, downhill toward another carpark and hut. Here there are bathroom facilities, you will be charged $10 per person (you can pay cash or card) and a guide will be assigned to your group to lead you through the hike. I would say a guide is absolutely not required for this walk. The trail is clear & simple, it's very difficult to get lost and our guide didn't really share much information or knowledge with us. They did offer to take photographs of us which was nice. There are periods of flat, however at points there are a lot of steep steps. Would recommend for the views of the Pitons, you might even see some cute...
Read moreWe drove here using google maps. It’s sort of wrong. Follow it anyways this trail is NOT in the resort. You need to turn (only way) and follow the road up. You will see signs for it. The entrance looks run down but the trail is pretty good. I went with my senior mother and an 11 year old kid. We got a guide which 100 percent do it and tip them it’s there source of income. We bought beers from the nice lady at the entrance when we returned from the hike. Yes the incline can be brutal but GO SLOW if you take breaks if you feel the heart rate go up you can do it and the views are soooooo worth it! There is also a small bar at the top where you can purchase water, beers or even a souvenir. This place is so worth it! Get some cardio in and do this hike. It took us longer cause we had two out of shape people but if you young and fit and healthy it can be done in less then 45 minutes round trip. When your done the steps up it’s flat from there. So imagine first 15 minutes is steps up then the next 15 minutes...
