There are some nice exhibitions here at the time of my visit five days ago, ticket for 6 local dollars, relatively cheap in local standards. You can see some artistic videos which are shown as artworks, and also some very contemporary conception and representatiom of different arts. It worths to pay a visit if you like arts especially cinematic arts. But if you just want to see some fine arts, you would need to wait for opening of the other galleries. The main museum was nearly closed, probably under renovation. There was only a free exhibition there showing the museum history. I don't know why the art museum of such a developed state would be nearly closed anytime!

I really enjoyed my visit here. The exhibits are interactive and with projection and sound a part of the experience. They put bean bags and tables so visitors can sitnand plop down or draw on desks. There is even a stairwell exhibit with songs that inspired the art. The first floor exhibit about the places in singapore has rich detail that is often missing in modern art. It really could be a promo for the tourism board. The staff in each exhibit took the time to explain the art and how to interact with it. Now when have i been to an art museum where the staff did that?

The main Singapore Art Museum (SAM) is currently under restoration band as such, the exhibitions are held in SAM on 8Q. When I went there, the exhibition was Cinerama. The facility is really interesting as one of the museum attendants told me that it was previously a school and was converted into one of SAM's exhibition areas. Entrance is free for Singaporeans and PR holders on all days but on Fridays, entrance is free for all if they join the guided tour.

Imaginarium 2018 - 8Q is a small building and this year's exhibits weren't as interesting or interactive. Felt like it needed something more. If you have young children, some of the animation videos shown in the film room may be disturbing for them to watch. What I don't like about the Imaginarium at SAM or 8Q every year is that there's always an element of darkness in some of its exhibits which border on evil, which I don't find to be very appropriate for children. My children leave the place feeling disturbed and unsettled rather than fulfilled. Please rethink what would be tasteful and appealing to children since it's...
