Al hejaz Railway museum, Also its called madina museum (found a sign of this name next to it).
Firstly please make sure you are aware of opening hours. on internet its mentioned 9am to 9pm. but we visited on this monday 15th june morning and found it closed. Later we came to know it is open only in evening till 8:30pm.
We went back again visited in evening.
when you enter the museum, there is a big hall which showcasing huge water basins, water pots, grinding wheel, pieces of mosque tower.
Starting from a small door on left side of hall, leads to small rooms showcasing dresses, and some other items, it also leads to first floor stairs.
first floor is divided into different sections, you will find small rooms on both side of corridor. weapons, old crockery, perfume bottles, plates, old coins in gold & silver, candle stands, old calender, Astrolabes (Astronomical clock), old pictures of madinah and neigbouring, railway route postures, bows, pistols, old saudi currency, pictures of rulers of saudi, herbs/ rocks/ gems (ground floor) and you will get chance to observe old days living and culture.
Note: Please confirm opening hours, we paid "no fee", advisable for ladies to not go alone (although its just 10-15 mins walk from Masjib Nabwi), dont forget to visit turkish mosque opposite museum, do take leaflets on your way back.
