Lakes Park — Attraction in Riyadh Region

Also called as Al Hair (read as "Hayer") Lake. It's one hour drive from Riyadh - good place for a family outing and to be close to nature. There is sitting area near to the lake and it's comforting to move away from the city's hustle and relax at this venue. The place is well kept, tha ks to the visitor centre and has wash rooms and waiting areas. They have fish farm where they breed cat fish and its a sight to watch them in such numbers - feed them bread or khubus and see them come to the surface. Kids aside, the adults too love watching this sight. Small rocky hills to satisfy your urge for hiking (exercising). Make sure to carry food and water since it is not available...

The location itself is quite beautiful, with a lot of potential, but there are a few areas that could use improvement. The interlocking tiles are well-maintained, but it would be a great addition to have some green grass in the sitting areas to make the space feel more inviting and comfortable. The biggest downside, however, is the unpleasant smell coming from the water, which seems to be linked to the sewage system. The odor is strong and off-putting, making it hard to fully enjoy the space. With some additional greenery and addressing the water issue, this place could easily become much more enjoyable...
