My friend and I contracted Travel with Ziggy for a four-day tour of Senegal. It was not a good experience, and I will not be using this company again. The problems began from the minute my friend and I landed in Dakar. Our tour guide from Travel with Ziggy wasn’t waiting for us with a sign with our names on it as most tour companies do. He was siting in the car in the parking lot. My friend and I had to go look for him rolling our heavy luggage, tired after traveling overnight to an unknown place. The car which was to take us around Senegal was old, dirty and it smelled. The driver/tour guide didn’t know how to use the AC and we had to do it for him. He also didn’t speak a word of English and I didn’t speak French thus for the four days of our “tour” I had to depend on my friend to communicate with the driver/tour guide.
Although the driver/tour guide was very nice and accommodating, it was clear that Ziggy, the owner of the company, did not communicate with him before our arrival regarding how to do his job correctly. Ziggy was out of the county at the time. Often the driver/tour guide had to ask for directions how to get places. When we were taken to certain sites where another person was conducting the tour guide, that person didn’t speak English or spoke only very basic English. Travel with Ziggy should had made sure the tour guides they hired spoke at least basic English otherwise the company should have informed us of this fact.
My friend and I paid Travel with Ziggy what I believe in Senegal is a good amount of money for four days. What we got back was a disorganize tour, a dirty old car to take us around, and mediocre service. If I was to return to West Africa, I will not be traveling with Ziggy and neither should you if you read...
Read moreTraveling with Ziggy during the “summer in Accra” trip is a dream come true! He is the most amazing, fun, and joyful human being to be around; his bright smile always lighten your day.😘 Prior to the trip, he tried all the adventures himself to ensure we will have a great experience. (Thats professionalism!). This trip was a girls’ trip: “Ziggy and the girls” and it was perfect not only because of the discoveries but mainly because of the bond, the love, the genuine connection, the free spirit of the girls. The itinerary was well crafted with great activities, visit of key landmarks: we stormed the independence square with our beautiful Senegalese attires (Ziggy and the girls ate and left no crumbs😉) - we went to Akosombo and did an afternoon cruise on the lake Volta, visited Aburi garden, went to see the waterfall, did quad biking; ate local food; drank “ndokou coco (like Maya will say😘); went for Karaoke night, salsa night, cooking session, batik session… we sang, we danced, we laughed, we celebrated fake birthdays, we played UNO and we took thousand of pictures… I had the most amazing week surrounded by a beautifully diverse group of strong and unique women. I strongly recommend traveling with Ziggy (1,000%). Thank you Ziggy baby for this amazing experience and for sharing your...
Read moreZiggy organized a custom made trip for my two boys (8 and 11yo) and me. He organized everything from A to Z: picked the cities to visit (Saint Louis, Loumpoul desert, Sin Saloum islands, Cap Skirring, etc.), organized a mix of cultural, nature and sports activities, booked hotels and restaurants. We had a private chauffeur staying with us the whole trip, which is very reassuring for a mom traveling solo. Ziggy was very responsive to any request we had and reacted instantly to problem solve whenever needed. My boys came out of this trip in love with Senegal and more connected to their roots. I’ll definitely contact him back for future trips in Senegal and maybe even other African countries! Very much looking forward to my next...
