"Giant Union Rock" se nachází v areálu L'Union Estate, musíte si zaplatit vstup 150 SCR, ale vyplatí se to, protože v areálu máte mimo tento monolit i jednu z nejkrásnějších pláží světa - Anse Source D'Argent, vanilkové plantáže, starý hřbitov, želvy atd.

Großer schwarzer Felsen. Am Fuß mit einer Herde Riesenschildkröten. In der Mitte eines kleinen Park, durch den man durch muss wenn man zum Anse Source d'Argent will. Zum Anschauen einer der schönsten Strände der Welt. Zum Baden aufgrund der Steine und Algen und gefühlten 40 Grad Wasser eher nicht. Dafür zahlt man Eintritt.

Unfortunately, the park is not very impressive, and I felt sorry for the turtles. They weren’t allowed to roam freely, had too little space for so many of them, and I didn’t like that people were allowed or even encouraged to touch the animals. It’s not a zoo, and the animals should be respected. Unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy it. The beach was nice, but paying extra for entry wasn’t worth it. However, if the entrance fee supports the local culture and the turtles, then it...

We cycled past without stopping because the animals are confined in such a small space. Why aren't the turtles allowed to roam freely on the island? The government...

Veramente molto suggestiva questa roccia scura e gigantesca che impera in mezzo al parco. Alle pendici, scorrazzano (con molta calma, ovviamente!) le tartarughe giganti alle quali è possibile dare da mangiare foglie e frutta (solo quella che trovate lì però, non devono mangiare niente che venga da fuori o da produzione industriale). Io ho trovato il tutto molto bello e interessante. Accanto alle tartarughe poi vi è anche una specie di vecchia vasca dove hanno trovato casa i ragni giganti (ma totalmente innocui) tipici...
