Feeling like exploring Beau Vallon without hiring a car? A gem (Small) beach north of main beach is accessible by foot or taking bus 22 (sometimes route 20) from the main street opp Boat Bar / restaurant. Basically walk north of Boat Bar towards Baobab pizza place (on your left, stopping for a picture of the palm trees shadows on the stream) then head up the road, you will see the sign to Soleil Beach. You can park along the road or, drive down the slope and the road ends under the tree canopy). Feels eery but as far as I know is safe there. To get to the beach you walk over some slabs of stone or bricks. The beach is small, sheltered, and has a Hut selling some drinks and maybe the grilled fish. Meeting the owner, a lad from the UK be talks of making this stretch of beach a haven of peace and tranquility. Nice fella. (however ask the locals if the beach is open. Read moreThe place is very beautiful, sandy beach and incredible sunset. Drinks are good. Food is really so-so and scarce. Bartenders are friendly. The worst is that is too expensive and the exchange rate if you pay in euros if a theft. A meal that would cost 100€ they charge you 125€ with the wrong exchange rate. As long as you do not eat and pay with SCR is a great spot. Otherwise is not worth it. You try to make them see that their xrate is totally wrong but no way. And when you complain the management is not there. Pity. Is one of the greatest spots in the north of the island... they should improve...
