We took a walk to the Botanic garden from Novotel at Stevens and it was quite a good walk. The feeling after entering the garden was amazing as it was very soothing and pleasant due to the dense but detailed placement of cafes, restaurants, toilets, drinking water stations and the lively green lush plants and trees. There is a forest walk for those who enjoy peaceful walks in the woods, there are small small gardens in the garden with Hut-like arrangements so feel free to sit and inhale the spirit and beauty of the surrounding. Then there is a national orchid garden that is sgd 15 ticket entry but worth it. The instant happiness and glow is guaranteed at the gate itself so don't think much and buy the ticket. Through this garden, you will enjoy orchids, gates made of logs some statues and so many bright and beautiful flowers. There are steps, there are huts and all surrounded by green plants, trees and lively flowers. Don't forget to enter the Sembcorp Cool House which is the actual highlight of the garden. It's an absolute delight with air conditioning and amazing plants and flowers. I wish they had a cot or simple grassy place to sleep because i really wanted to sleep there for that heavenly sleep!!! The beauty is exceptional. There are many photo spots so the camera lovers can have their day clicking and admiring nature and its beauty so beautifully maintained by humans! We got out of the orchid garden and took a walk through the ginger garden that was welcomed by a giant lizard (if i identified it correctly) unbothered by our noise and excitement but busy searching for its food Then there were roosters and squirrels and birds making the surroundings perfect by their perfect presence and sounds. We spent some more time reading about trees and plants and clicking some photos and being stunned at the beauty...

The show weaves through the Gardens’ tranquil paths, with each corner transformed by lights that shift from calming blues to vibrant rainbows, casting a dreamlike glow over the greenery and lakes.
The highlight is the Heron and Swan Lake area, where statues of birds are illuminated against the still water, their reflections doubled in the lake, creating a mesmerizing visual. The light projections on the surrounding trees give the whole scene a layered depth — it feels like stepping into a living painting. Watching the lights ripple across the foliage and water while soft music plays in the background is genuinely calming, even with the crowds.
Families, couples, and groups gather on the large lawn, where kids chase bubbles and run around before the show begins. The atmosphere feels like a mini festival, with picnic mats spread out, soft chatter filling the air, and everyone waiting for the lights to dance over the landscape as dusk fades to night. The whole park feels alive yet peaceful, balancing the energy of a celebration with the tranquility the Gardens are known for.
Even during the day, the Gardens hold their charm. The lily ponds, complete with little birds hopping between the pads, are serene stops along the way — a nice contrast before the evening spectacle begins.
