Read moreI think itâs a nice hiking route with nice scenery and a good distance to challenge yourself from Mount Faber park all the way to Kent ridge. Even if you would like to end at the Henderson waves or Hort Park, thatâs fine too.
Itâs nice to be around the greens and see some birds and butterfly. Nature is beautiful.
However, I think the weather plays a big part too. Do check the weather forecast before and remember to bring an umbrella or rain coat regardless the weather is sunny. It is the rainy season and you donât know when itâs going to rain, so better be prepared.
Do pack along sunscreen to reapply or bring a cap as it can be quite hot around noon. Bring along mosquito repellant to keep the mosquitoes away and we should take care of ourselves and keep dengue away.
Be responsible and dispose rubbish into the bins and donât pollute the environment.
I recommend to take a rest when you reached hort park. You can use the washroom before you continue. The route to Kent Ridge is quite a walk.
When you walk out of Kent Ridge, youâll see the bus stop on your left which will lead you to One North.
You can have a meal there! And walk to Buona Vista MRT while you digest.
I think youâll be able to track...
Read moreOne of the few elevated tracks in Singapore for an intense jog. Spread out over several parks in the Bukit Merah area - the environment of each is different. At Mt. Faber, the jog is mostly alongside the road leading to the cable car station. Shelter is available here, with little to no elevations. Signage to prominent landmarks is available, but not clear. Had a hard time to find Henderson Waves, before looking up on Google Maps. After this bridge, it's more of a forest feel. You can smell the urine of the local animals, as well as feces, etc. scattered on the track. Elevation is tough in the Telok Blangah Hill Park. The forest walk at the end of this park (leading to the street) can be scary for some. This is an area active with squirrels and monkeys, and they are not afraid of jumping out at you. Availability of toilets are rare. One has to come here a few times to familiarise themselves. HortPark is a fairly small park that hosts a number of events. A jog through here lead ultimately to the Kent Ridge Park. Entrance (if running westwards) is through a series of strenous but interesting hairpin bends. This park is fairly scenic with views of the lake leading to the...
