Leaving a google review for the first time as I was really upset with the service of Yakun Century Square. I’m an avid fan of local tea and food and frequents Yakun and other brands (toastbox, funtoast etc).
Firstly, the place was small and packed and wasn’t easy to get a table. Some customers had to use the standing table provided by the mall right in front of Yakun. That’s ok, but there was once I brought my overseas friend to this particular outlet to have her first try on the brand, I kindly asked if there were anymore available seats (was hoping someone would look out for us but the staff just shunned us away - ”这边没有位子就没有咯”so embarrassed cos I actually wanted my friend to enjoy her first Yakun experience). So we ended up at the standing table instead bcos we came here for Yakun!!
Today, I’m here again giving them a second chance as I was kind of avoiding this outlet after experiencing the bad attitude. Disappointed again. Usually at other outlets, after making order, drinks would be served first, we are supposed to collect them before sitting down and wait for the main food to be served.
I waited patiently for more than 10mins for my drink and didn’t complain at all. At the same time, I think my food was ready and my number was pressed several times repeatedly (with that ringing sound alert thing). I didn’t realise as I was still waiting for my drink beside the counter (food collection was at the other corner). As I was dining alone, it was rather chaotic to collect both at the same time.
After realising my food was ready (before my drink??), I walked over and put it on my table. And had to walk back quickly to check if my drink was ready. There was a cup of tea so I wanted to double check if it was mine bcos there were a few ppl waiting. With a neutral tone, I asked if that particular Teh was mine. The aunty in charge of drink asked what I ordered and I replied accordingly - “Teh Large”. She then replied “then就是了咯“ (???) *Disclaimer: I really didn’t sound rude or anything I swear 😢 and there was another receipt with my cup so I was afraid I took the wrong one and had to walk over again!
Feeling kind of pissed, I said with a monotone that there’s a receipt beside the cup with different number from mine 🙂 She sounded like she wanted to pick a fight and said “那边都没有号码”. Ok but as a customer, I really didn’t want to take someone else’s cup of drink and there was really another receipt. I was genuinely double checking only 🥹
不知道我为什么要受罪,我来这里只是想好好地喝一杯茶,吃面包… but turned out the experience was quite disappointing. The space was also too small, big groups are not advised cos can’t really take your time and enjoy.
I really believe Yakun can do better than this. They could be understaffed but I truly hope that this Singapore brand’s service could uphold to their standards of food as they come hand in hand. Food is good but the service and environment matter too. I hope foreigners will have a good experience at Yakun no matter which outlet they go to. I still love Yakun’s food and...
Read moreI visited the outlet with my family on the morning of 31 May. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience due to the rude behavior of the lady cashier and the incorrect order fulfillment.
When I placed my order for 3 Set A meals, the lady cashier asked me what drinks I wanted. I responded, “Hot coffee for all sets, please.” I then added, “Two sets without butter, please.”
To my surprise, she immediately replied in a rude tone: “Next time don’t order this way.” I was shocked and taken aback. It seemed she was irritated because she had to re-key the order manually.
However, I don’t think it was fair for her to speak to a customer that way, especially since she was the one who asked for the drink preference first. If the system has limitations, it should not be the customer's fault.
Even after she keyed in the corrected order, the food we received was wrong. Instead of two sets without butter and one with butter, we got two sets with butter and one without.
The rude attitude of the staff and the mistake with our food left us very...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at your establishment today(1/9/24 15:16). the staff member (auntie with glasses) taking my order was inattentive and made several errors. I specifically asked for a large “yuanyang o kosong bing,” but she relayed the order as a small “yuanyang o kosong” to her colleague. When I corrected her, she did not acknowledge or respond.
After making the payment, I received a hot yuanyang o instead of the iced one I requested. I asked for it to be changed to iced and was told I would need to pay an additional $1.40. I agreed to this, but then was told I needed to wait until the queue was cleared before I could pay.
This situation was very frustrating. I don’t understand why I should have to wait to pay for a correction that was not my fault. Could you please address these issues with your staff to ensure better service...
