Thermal park Vyhne "local word for tower structure used in metalurgy process, where iron is been melted from raw iron ore", is located in former industrial village in the middle of Stiavnicke Vrchy hills.. This region is rich on minerals, gold, silver, iron and has been one of the most busy mining centers durring "gold rush" era.. Other "klondike era" cities are: Kremnica (known for gold mining and coin industry), Banska Stiavnica (known more for Silver mines) and more.. The region has similar aura and history as whole..
Prehistoric volcanoic activity made this area rich on minerals, sprinks, where as many have been turned to thermal public baths.. Today one of the poorer region due to abadoned digging industry and thus higher unemployment rate ammong the younger citizens..
While city remains in old visual habit Aqua Park Vyhne is renewed to current hygienic and aesthetic standards including: Fully Inox basins 1 large (from 1.8m to 4.5m deep), 2 small (1.75m deep), 1 child area 0.25m/25cm deep and separated "Tobogan" curved waterslide with thermal water too.. There is also a "bonus" diving chamber 4.5m deep..
Thermal water is odorless, transparent, temp. is ranging from 27°C (infants area) to 25°C (adults zone).. Following shower areas, water massage area, bubbler massage area, dressing area, toilets, cabins, childcare room..
There is even separated underground public entrance with cabins, wall "dyson like" hair dryers, and heating.. (i think is for fall/winter saison purposes to wash and get dressed) It's unproofed but depending on thermal water temperature i think it's whole season...
Read moreVyhne is a wonderful place to visit, whether you live locally or are visiting the area. There are so many swimming/bathing options--a generous-sized kiddie pool, a pool where 2 fun water slides let out, and then an entire adult pool complex, complete with a jetted area for relaxing, an area for swimming laps, and a deep area for diving. There are lounge chairs around the entire perimeter and lots of green space for blankets & towels and also for children to run around. The indoor bathroom/changing facilities are always clean and there's also a wellness center for massage, etc, as well as an indoor pool.
The reason I only rate it a 4/5 though is because all day long, they BLAST local radio, which is so deafening--as the complex is nestled in nature, it would be nice to listen to the birds or read a book or be able to talk with each other without hearing blaring 80s hits and radio hosts' mindless commentary. The other downfall is the non-nutritious food offered...hot dogs, langoše, French fries, artificially flavored nanuky, etc....true fast food garbage. Happily you're allowed to bring your own food in, but I think people would buy healthier items if they were all that was offered. Thermal water has been used for centuries as a means of healing, and I think Vyhne misses an opportunity when they offer junk food and loud music in place of nutritious food and a...
Read moreThe pool with warm mineral water and whirlpools and a jet is really great, the pool bar window offers a spectacular variety of beverages, and I enjoyed an excellent massage. But only 4 stars because I found the facilities lacking in space. When I come to a wellness, I need to take my clothes off and lay them down, sort my shampoo and shower gel bottles. Not be couped in a tiny changing room that barely allows for movement and has the tiniest stool and a hook that can't even hold 2 items of clothing at a time. Even in the general changing room area, there are 3 benches so small you can't even put all your stuff on them. More like a sports pool feel to it than wellness, really takes away the...
