Hotel Termál — Hotel in Vyhne

So far, most people back home posed their questions as "What the hell do you want to go to Slovakia for? and "There's nothing there"! Well, I can tell you they're wrong. It's a small country, with a tiny population full of unspoilt natural beauty slap bang in the middle of Europe. I came here for an extended business trip, my Slovak company contact booked me into this *Spa hotel. A bit difficult to find even with SatNav cos this place is tucked away on a hillside, on the edge of a forest near a tiny village called Vyhne. On arrival, I was most surprised at the natural surroundings, well kept island gardens, and general welcoming atmosphere presented by the entrance. The lobby is very modern, tastefully decorated. The ladies at the front desk were helpful, speak reasonable English, German, understand Polish as well as Russian, Czech. I was given the key to a room on the top (4th) floor. I found the room spacious, clean, very neat and functional. The bathroom comprising a glass corner shower, washbasin, and toilet is almost too big. Perhaps the wash basin could have been a size or 2 bigger but I found it to be acceptable. Free WiFi is available. Stepping out onto the balcony, gave me a side view of the carpark, as well as the forest 50m away. At night you can hear foxes greeting each other in the woods, or the occasional hollow grunts of red deer. Breakfast in the restaurant was an expansive but no-nonsense affair. The food was good, the coffee by comparison... for heavens sake is a disgusting brew without description...but there's always tea, or juices to drink. Coffee in the lobby bar is just delicious, the bar is well stocked but, they only (as far as I know) only serve drought STEIGER beer which incidentally, is brewed in the same small village...not bad at €2,50 for a half litre glass! In the Hotel sous- terrain, there is a lovely heated swimming pool, sauna, and rooms where 'boys' and 'girls' can enjoy a professional massage, facial, and / or body beauty treatments - all at most reasonable prices. If there is a downside to stayiing here longer than 2 days, then I would say that the ambient music in the hotel just got on my nerves...over and over again Enya. After 3 weeks here, I was glad to leave for that reason. Things to do in the area? Enjoy the nature trails - hiking. In the valley, in Vyhne, you will find a large sports centre (Vodny Raj) You can play squash, tennis, swim, play volley and football. I believe it is also possible to visit the STEIGER brewery but, I never got around to finding out. Nearest town for reasonable shopping is approx 45km away in Banska Bystrica, otherwise most immediate purchases can be done in nearby...

Na základe očividnej chyby na strane recepcie sme namiesto špeciálnej Romantickej večere, ktorá sa ohlasuje vopred aby stihla byť pripravená, mali výber z obyčajného menu. Keby recepčnej záležalo na jej práci a robila ju dobre, tak by si to všimli pri našom príchode a mohli to kľudne ešte na rýchlo pripraviť, keďže sme najprv mali v kupóne ešte wellness, ale bohužiaľ sa pri našom príchode bavila s kolegami a chcela v tom zrejme pokračovať čo najskôr. Z recepcie nás poslali bez záujmu do wellnesu, ktorý je v suteréne. Tam si ďalšia recepčná už cez PC pozrela náš kupón, ale ani tak sa neprišlo na to, že na ten večer očividne nahlásenú špeciálnu večeru nemajú a nechystajú ju. Dostali sme klúče od skriniek a plachty. Na možnosť požičať si uterák, šľapky alebo čokoľvek sa nás nespýtali. Skrinky sme mali situované tak, že na nás ešte stále videla recepčná. Recepciu a šatne totiž neoddeľujú žiadne dvere. Prezliekanie prebiehalo teda v kabínkach aj keby si chcete prezliecť len tričko. Wellness samo o sebe fajn, je to tam dosť malé, ale pekné a človek sa aj vysaunuje. Po wellness nás recepčná z wellnessu poslala do reštaurácie. Tam sme povedali, že máme mať tú špeciálnu večeru a poslali nás sadnúť si do oddelenej časti od hotelových hostí. Tam sme si náhodne niekde sadli. V tom nás prišla informovať servírka, ktorá nás už potom obsluhovala, o tom že nás nečakajú a nemajú to teda pripravené, a podala to takým spôsobom, akoby sme si to my nenahlásili. Pritom nám jeden termín hotel vyslovene predtým zrušil, že túto večeru nestihnú a išli sme teda inokedy, takže sme to asi nahlasovali správne.. Inak sa ale servírka snažila byť milá. Dala nám na stôl sviečku a kvietok. Doniesla nám vybrať z menu, avšak vyberali sme len hlavné jedlo. Dali sme si džbán vody a priateľka pohár prosecca. Večera mala pozostávať z 4 chodov, takže podľa toho sme dostali dostupné jedlo z klasického menu. Predjedlo veľmi fajn, krajec chleba s bryndzou. Polievky som si všimol, že mali síce v menu dve, ale nám rovno doniesli konkrétnu bez výberu. Tá bola veľmi chutná. Hlavné jedlo šlo už vybrať, ponuka pre vegetariánov veľmi slabá, zvolil som teda roastbeef servírovaný na pšeničnej wafle. Mäso bolo veľmi dobre pripravené avšak wafla bola veľmi suchá a chuťou skôr kazila. Servírovanie pôsobilo, ako keby pólku niekto zjedol. Záver bol zákusok.... niečo ako browniee, na tom šlahačka a na tom KôPROVÝ CUKOR. Ten bol fakt odporný a keď som sa naň na konci pýtal servírky tak sama povedala, že nie každému to chutí a že už na to ľudia reagovali. Avšak nás dopredu ani neinformovala čo vlastne máme za dezert, takže som dopredu nemohol protestovať. Keby na vrch nedali ten cukor, tak by som to zjedol. Takto sa to len vyhodilo. Chvíľu sme po dezerte posedeli, nikto za nami s ničím už neprišiel a menu na kávu nám nenechali, takže sme sa rozhodli odísť keďže nikde nikoho nebolo. Odchod bol v duchu "dúfam teda, že to pitie bolo v rámci tej večere ako kompenzácia" a že nás nikto na parkovisku nebude naháňať s doplatením poháru prosecca, keďže servírka nám to nejak neupresnila. Zakončím to len tak, že za normálnych okolností to hlavné jedlo samo o sebe, stojí 16,90€. Jedná sa o 3* hotel, ktorého cenník zodpovedá 4+* hotelu či lepšej reštike v Bratislave, ale služby sú tak max na slabšiu trojhviezdu. Myslím si, že hotel potrebuje lepší personál a bude to tam trochu dávať zmysel, pretože prostredie je veľmi pekné ako okolie tak...

Hotel is about at the highest point of the village Vyhne. . Along the way you pass the hotel Sitno to get to the mountain hotel Termal.||The surrounding area is very nice, lake with hot water directly in front of the hotel, a view far and wide. Entrance hall, reception, lobby bar is the best first contact with the client. The hotel staff acts as if all clients have long known there, is a family atmosphere here. Rooms, some in the older part, in other newer parts are clean, with views of the surrounding countryside, fine. The restaurant new, delightful, delicious food / criticized temperature would be served hot meals /. Wellness is smaller, but also here there is a pleasant atmosphere. You have to try everything once. As for the lobby bar, comfortable seating in the design space where everyone can find their cozy niche. I recommend each .... and...
