The descent is slightly steep, but it's nothing too difficult. Keep in mind, however, that this is a wild cave in the middle of nowhere, and it's very likely that you won't encounter any people in the area. You can park your car right next to the cave (a 10-minute walk and you're there). The cave is absolutely stunning. The enormous chamber inside makes a big impression. We visited it when the Rak River was completely dry, and we were able to go deeper inside if we wanted to (apparently, you can go in for several hundred meters!), but there are bats living inside, and we didn’t want to disturb them. Read moreNot as spectacular as the zelske caves nearby but the natural bridge is very beautiful and it's possible to go quite far into the cave.
Would recommend bringing good strong torches or head lamps, a jumper and proper shoes, but it's well worth the effort. So lovely to be able to explore some of Slovenia's incredible cave network for free and without masses of people there (we visited on Saturday & Sunday in August).
