We saw a sign for "orange wine" on our way back to our hotel and knew we had to stop. We learned quickly that wine tasting in Slovenia is not like in the US (where usually you just wonder in) and that we should have scheduled in advance. Unforgettable visit in the beautiful village of Goče. I was met with true passion and pride of the Povh family's products, and a friendliness and hospitality you can only dream about. We made a same-day reservation for this winery (on a Saturday in july) because of its orange wines, and the owners were so accommodating. Miha, whose great grandmother originally bought the land for the vineyard, was a wonderful host! We learned so much about Slovenian wines, the history of the wine region, and the wine making process.
