It is in a beautiful setting but unlike the beaches on the eastern side of the point the water is freezing and the beach covered in rotting kelp washed up with the tide and unlike the beaches at Glencairn and Fish hoek I have never seen any effort being put in to remove the kelp which can be used to make fertiliser and also could be used to be the source for generating power by decaying. ( or so I have heard from some electrical green power engineers.) Further around towards Scarborough the beach is however way cleaner and better looked after by its locals. The traffic is also a nightmare to get to kommetjie! I know they are busy working on the problem but some clever Contracts Manager is probably busy making his company a fortune in delay claims on this...
