A bit disappointing. We were excited to visit this cafĆ©, but donāt think we will repeat. Probably due to loadshedding, there was very little to choose from menu-wise, absolutely nothing warm and only a 2 or so savoury options, which is what we (and everyone else in the queue) wanted. The woman (owner, possibly?) working quite haughtily informed us avo were out of season, which seemed like an over-the-top attitude to take for an SA business serving products using oranges and chocolate.
While the menu limitations were probably due to loadshedding, the frustrating part was that the garden experience was ruined by the sound of the generator. It wasnāt pleasant at all. I feel for the business because thereās not much that can be done about this, but it really did detract from our expected experience and it didnāt help that we were eating pastries when we came expecting to be able to order a healthy breakfast.
The barista was excellent and the coffee good, although a little acidic. The staff was very friendly as well. Itās a shame about loadshedding, but perhaps consider adapting the menu and placing some plants or wooden screens between the generator and outdoor dining area to improve...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad an awesome brunch with my bf and even got to the meet the owner who is such a force of vibrant energy. She is so welcoming, open and warm and made us feel super comfortable being there. āļø The staff are also very kind, patient and hospitable, even when the cafe was full occupancy and it was stressful for them with alot of orders coming through. We had the avo toast and what we really liked was the gypsy ham and cheese toastie on seeded bread was so tasty! š Everything was affordable / cheap and they even serve loose leaf teas and premium honey which was a nice surprise to the usual chain restaurant offerings.
Got the cutest sun hat ever after searching for months, I never expected to find it here at a quaint coffee shop all the way in Kommetjie! āŗļø Itās only R290 and is of such high quality. Love love love, will be wearing it everywhere now with me when I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA local coffee spot that's got a really chilled vibe. It's a mere stroll to the local beach and a short ride up the road to the famous Cape Point. It's chock full of locals and their pets and the coffee is pretty much perfect. You can have fruit, yogurt, muesli, loads of vegan and vegetarian options, there's gluten free, sugar free and other options that I did not get to sample. The welcome is warm, the service is slick and it's a joy to be in a place where the barista is happy to fine tune your coffee the way you like it. Go visit if...
