ONE OF THE BEST TASTING EXPERIENCES THIS YEAR!

I have been to Beau Constantia quite a few times before in the last years. To be honest, our last experience there was just okay...

After having a not so satisfying tasting in another Constantia winery we decided to give Beau Constantia another chance, hoping that our day would find a positive end...

AND IT WAS THE BEST DECISION WE MADE!!!

I don't have to talk about the modern and clean glass tasting room, with that amazing view over Constantia Valley. You can see that on many pictures.

But I have to mention CLAUDIA, who did the tasting with us. You can feel her passion about wine when she is explaining what she is pouring in your glass. Her whole body, every move shows how passionate she is about it. The wording she is using to explain is her own language, not only any learned information given by the winery. What we liked about her, she never told customer what they will smell and taste, giving them the opportunity to try that wine neutral. But if you ask, she def knew what to say about aromas. Her tasting is a modern approach to a thing, which is done in a very old way so often. Even that she was really honest about her own taste, what wine her fav and least fav is, making her authentic and that's why she is bonding easily with the customer. We just loved every minute spending at the tasting room and enjoying the really beautiful wines with such a perfect guidance. Dear Beau Constantia Team, we do hope that you guys know what treasure is working in your tasting room. Well trained in advance, bringing all her knowledge from also working in a cellar into her work at your winery. We really hope but also are very sure that she will do her way in that industry (of course paired with fashion "bring in that style girl").

Thank you for giving us this amazing experience. We are looking forward to come back and chat a bit more.

And by the way.... Your tasting portions are really the best. You can have some bigger sips which makes it possible to get all the flavors your wines have to offer.

GREAT JOB OF THE WINERY AND THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MAKING THIS...

Really poor experience. Shocked as there were so many good reviews for this place. Walking in it felt like it was being run by a disorganised agency rather than knowledgeable members of staff who care about their place of work. We booked in advance and arrived right on time, excited to continue celebrating the last day of our honeymoon before heading home. The hostess was VERY cold and unwelcoming and grunted at us that our table wasn't ready so we needed to come back (with no apology). First impressions are important. We were happy at this stage to come back but when we did so we were seated and left some menus with no greeting or explanation. The waiter serving our wine tasting then put the wrong wines down in front of us twice and seemed to rush through the descriptions. Was again quite unfriendly with us but seemed to be laughing and joking with colleagues the whole time. Ordered some food with our tasting and had to check on it a few times as it took so long to come out. Toilets were really filthy to the point you didn't want to use them. Finally, we purchased some of their wine to take back home with us in our luggage and it was given to us wrapped in a brown paper bag which was quite laughable (something you would find in an American liquor store to conceal your beer for drinking on the street?) not to mention these were their premium bottles. Lovely views and a few nice wines but service just really ruined our experience here. So unusual for cape town as we've had such excellent experiences all throughout our trip. I had also mentioned on the booking that we were on honeymoon and even then they still were so cold and made 0 effort with us throughout the service. Shocking. Luckily decided to go to another local winery afterwards to finish our afternoon and had amazing service from the team over there... And wine to take home served in an actual wine box would you believe! Which really...

Very nice venue. Great views towards Stellenbosch mountains and False Bay. More mountain views than sea views. You look out from the top of Constantia Nek over Constantia and a few other wine farms. The menu is tapas-based and meant to be shared. You get the most diversity and value for money with going the sharing route. You can ask for gluten free options too. The food is delicious and really fine dining, new world contemporary. Very good service and ambience too. They have the farms wines on the menu. Be warned though, the pricing of the wines in the restaurant is some of the most ridiculous I have seen. Expect to pay double the price for some of the wines. I would recommend to do a tasting in the wine tasting area and take a bottle to the restaurant. The wines are already expensive but in the restaurant they go crazy by inflating the prices massively and it is quite frankle insulting. Overall Beau Constantia is not cheap. Be sure to check the menu and prices beforehand. The local majority will have to budget to go here. Pricing seems to be catered for foreigners or those that dont mind spending excessively. Go here for special occasions. The wines are very good, already on the expensive side, but we found it difficult to stomache paying for it at those prices in the restaurant. Buy wine to take home at the wine tasting area, it is also the cheapest option as when drinking onsite, which is another weird pricing charge... I mean, why charge more for drinking onsite at the wine tasting as when taking it home? Are you paying extra to sit there and drink? Jeepers.

Beau Constantia is an absolutely magical place to visit in the Constantia Valley. The estate sits high on the slopes and the views are breathtaking. Rolling vineyards stretch out before you. The distant mountains form a perfect backdrop, from the moment we arrived, we felt completely immersed in the beauty. The wines were exceptional and our experience was made even more special by an amazing server who guided us through the tasting. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain each wine, helping us discover our favourites and making the experience feel personal and thoughtful. The food was just as impressive. We ordered a cheese board that was perfectly presented and full of flavour, as well as some fresh, delicious oysters. To our delight, there was also a taco truck on the estate, and the tacos were incredible. They were soft shell, not hard, with generous fillings and wonderful seasoning. This time we sat outside as there was a private function inside, which made the experience even more enjoyable, and previously we had the best duck salad here, which we still talk about. Beau Constantia combines exceptional wine, outstanding food, spectacular scenery, and warm, thoughtful service. It is an experience that will stay with you for a long time and is a must-visit for anyone in Cape Town who enjoys fine wine, great food, and beautiful surroundings. To be honest I preferred the wines and great service here more than at groot Constantia🫠
