The Water Works Museum is adjacent to the Hely-Hutchinson Reservoir and houses the equipment used to build the dams in the catchment area on Table Mountain.
The original building was built in 1904 and housed the pumping station for the dam, but the museum was founded by retired engineer Terence Timoney in 1972.
The original equipment faces decay but inside, the history of the construction is captured neatly.
