Klaasenbosch is an absolute gem for anyone who loves nature, tranquility, and a bit of outdoor family time. This serene greenbelt offers a peaceful escape, with a gentle stream running through lush greenery and plenty of shady spots, perfect for those warm summer days. The trails are flexible, so you can enjoy a short, leisurely walk with the kids or extend your stroll all the way to the Alphen Trail. It’s a wonderful place to bring the whole family. Dogs and even horses are welcome here. You’ll often see people walking their dogs or riding horses at a relaxed pace, adding to the calm, friendly atmosphere. There are plenty of spots to sit under a tree, unpack some snacks, and simply take in the sounds of birdsong and running water. Across the trail, by the little open field, there’s even a cozy coffee stand, ideal for a Sunday morning pick-me-up before or after your walk. Whether you’re catching up with friends, spending quiet time in nature, or exploring with the kids, Klaasenbosch is a beautiful, refreshing escape that always leaves you feeling grounded and grateful.

It's a pleasant walk, but far more suited to horses than people - in fact, you will likely see more horses on this trial than on adjacent trails. Parking can be a bit tricky as the road is narrow, but best to park some distance away and walk. Overall, the walk feels relatively safe and secure and while there are fewer people on this walk than Alphen, those that you meet are all pretty friendly and polite. There's more sandy areas than one would like and with a bit of planning, you can have a decent walk along this trail. No toilets available along this trail and not really wheelchair friendly.

What a beautiful hidden gem. I didn’t even know this green belt existed until my dad took me there recently. Living away from home the last few years I appreciate more and more the little time I have left with my parents. And when it comes to hanging out with my father nothing is better than walking in nature and it’s something I am grateful about my upbringing, that he brought us up with an appreciation of being in nature. Cape Town is a beautiful city with a lot of scenic places to walk such as these green belts which are easily accessible and scattered throughout Constantia.
