Reports on poor security were confirmed during my visit. Only the ponds enclosed in the security fence can be visited without a security guard in the car (ponds 2 and 3), but have limited interest, notably Nesting grey headed gulls with chicks.
Doing a quick tour of outside ponds the situation seems to have deteriorated. Bird hides are gone, wood collectors are walking on the roads used for bird watching and an informal settlement grows very close.
The security guard at the gate re-iterated same information as other reviews. Assaults, muggings and stabbings have been occurring since 2 years and security company has implemented this protocol, though I'm not sure security guards are too keen either.
