We had an alpaca-tastic time at The Alpaca Loom Coffee Shop and Weaving Studio! 🦙☕
Our family and the kids went on the alpaca tour, and it was an adventure to remember. From the moment we arrived, it was clear these alpacas have their own fan club, and we were eager to join!
The tour guide, with more alpaca puns than we could count, introduced us to the stars of the show. Each alpaca had its own personality, from the shy but curious to the downright sassy. We even got to feed them, and let's just say, if you're holding food, you become their new best friend. Pro tip: alpacas are the original foodies.
After bonding with the alpacas, the kids enjoyed the petting zoo. Watching them interact with the animals was priceless, and the animals seemed just as thrilled with the attention. It was a delightful addition to our visit!
Next, we headed to the coffee shop where the lattes were as smooth as alpaca wool. The weaving studio was fascinating too—who knew alpacas were not just cute but also contribute to such beautiful craftsmanship? Watching the artisans at work was like seeing a magical, fluffy version of Hogwarts.
The kids were thrilled, the adults were relaxed, and we all left with huge smiles and some seriously soft souvenirs. If you're looking for a fun, unique, and utterly charming day out, this place is shear delight! 🧶
Can’t wait to come back and see our new four-legged friends again. Until then, we'll be dreaming of alpaca cuddles and the perfect...
Read moreA perfect family outing! Get away from the hustle and bustle with the kids and spend time with these amazing, gentle, and cuddly alpacas. You can take a guided tour or simply enjoy feeding them at your own pace. There are also other animals on the property—donkeys, goats, camels, horses, and sheep—making it a real treat for animal lovers of all ages.
The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, and the venue is wheelchair-friendly too. The menu is Halaal, and we enjoyed a quick snack along with the most decadent red velvet baked cheesecake—absolutely delicious!
You can also browse a lovely selection of alpaca-themed goods for sale, including scarves, caps, colouring books, and much more. A highlight was seeing one of the ladies working at the loom, creating beautiful pieces from alpaca wool using age-old traditional methods. It’s like stepping back in time, watching these garments being crafted by hand.
Not only is there an opportunity for everyone to get up close to these beautiful animals, but the views are breathtaking too. While enjoying something to eat, you can take in the stunning Table mountain and the vibrant countryside. A truly memorable and...
Read moreThis establishment should be a must for everyone to visit! Barnyard tours are offered on the hour, with the first starting at 09.00 and the last tour offered is at 16.00. I’d highly recommend this tour as it’s not only very informative (you will learn more about the different Alpacas and the process of how their wool is being sheered), but you will also have the opportunity of seeing the breeding pens too, and the pens where the moms are nursing their young. Our tour guide Kirsty, was so friendly and helpful. She was well informed and we left the tour gaining a deeper understanding, appreciation and love for Alpacas. These tours are R100 per person.
The entrance to the petting zoo is R30, and one can also purchase food for R30 a bag to feed the Alpacas and some of the other animals. Bear in mind, Alpacas like to be fed with a full hand, so be ready to purchase more than one bag haha.
There is also a cute little coffee shop where one can purchase some yummy treats, or grab an iced coffee or iced chocolate beverage. The staff are extremely friendly and kind, and I can guarantee you that your experience at this establishment will be quite a...
