Absolutely a hidden gem.. well maintained easy trails with ablution and BBQ facilities. The view is spectacular and the calls of birds the untouched sounds of nature the tranquility.. coupled with the lightly flowing river sounds.. amazingly beautiful.. definitely a go again walking spot for all ages.. thank you to those that keep it well maintained and lush....

A very well maintained reserve with a picnic area and 5 different hiking trails, the longest being 2.2km. Perfect for get togethers or just a walk/hike. Due to rain, some parts of trail were slippery, so I would recommend trekking poles and proper shoes. There were also a lot of mosquitoes so carry Tabard. All in all, a delightful experience for nature lovers.

It's called Burman bush nature reserve, the walking trail is very relaxing with abundant bird life. We walked past a big family of bandit mongoose and saw some vervet monkey's. The braai areas are run down but still a pleasure if you bring your own grid. Since the fence was put up and regular security patrols, crime has not been recorded in the reserve.

A lovely place to hike. Some part of the trails are well maintained, but as you go further in on the longer trails (in our case the Tanglewood trail), it gets a bit slippery since their is a lot of mud. It’s best to come with trekking poles for those ones since some parts are a bit steep. Overall, very enjoyable place and surprisingly quiet.

Things were settling for winter when we went there with my seven year brother and his friends. So most of the foliage was turning brown and dry, but we did enjoy ourselves. We tried to identify and find a few of the plants and animals mentioned to be in the area. The sundial was a great learning feature for the kids.

Family friendly, clean, safe and well maintained trails. Lots of parking with picnic benches and braai facilities. There are a few short trails that are roughly 2km each, and relatively flat. Suitable for families with young kids. (Pro tip: the Sun Dial is a great learning tool for kids)
