I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with a recent experience at Dimitrov Gallery in Dullstroom. My family of five visited the gallery, eager to explore the artwork and enjoy a pleasant outing. However, our visit was marred by an unpleasant, hostile encounter that left us disheartened.

Upon arrival, we noticed a few art pieces displayed outside the gallery, which appeared to be part of the gallery's decor. We took a single photograph of the gallery's exterior, including its sign, solely for our personal memories. To our dismay, we were approached aggressively by a woman who appeared to be of Slavic descent. She demanded that we delete the photo, and despite my mother's polite compliment to her, the situation escalated quickly. The woman ridiculed us, laughed inappropriately, and attempted to forcibly remove the photo from my mother's phone. Her behavior was not only disrespectful but also humiliating.

Furthermore, the woman proceeded to use offensive slurs and insisted that we leave the gallery immediately. This experience was far beyond unprofessional; it was an egregious display of poor customer relations and a blatant disregard for respectful interaction.

Adding to our frustration is the fact that all the artworks displayed in the gallery are publicly available on Google, making the altercation completely unnecessary. The entire experience was utterly disappointing and left us with a strong aversion to returning or recommending the gallery to others.

I hope that you take this feedback seriously and address the issues regarding staff behavior and customer service. It is essential for a gallery to provide a welcoming and professional environment, and unfortunately, this was not the case during our visit.

Poor Customer Service at Dimitrov Art Gallery

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the treatment my group and I received from an elderly lady at your gallery in Dullstroom. On our visit, she aggressively confronted us about taking a photo of a seascape artwork, claiming it was not allowed. However, there was no visible signage indicating this policy.

When we asked to see the notice, she couldn't produce it and proceeded to delete the photo from my device. Her behavior was not only unwelcoming but also ridiculing, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

As a representative of your gallery, her attitude and actions were unprofessional and potentially lost you five potential buyers. Furthermore, her comments being a foreigner were unnecessary and disrespectful.

I suggest providing your staff, especially the lady in question, with customer service skills training to ensure a more positive experience for future visitors.
