Parkrun has a volunteer family that have their dogs off leash at the setup and takedown of the event. The ward councillor is another culprit, with his dog off leash at various times. Event Organisers seem incapable of addressing this. The hypocrisy of citing PR rules by the volunteer "one person, one dog, short leash" and a councillor being appointed to be a good example, is lost on them. Lovely example for young dog owners? Any citizen, seeing these big breed dogs at a distance off leash is being denied freedom of the park. The concentration of so many dogs in one place can be threatening too. Irresponsible dog owners abound in the park. Where are our Parkies and Metro? Can they not enforce the By-law that are on the sign at the entrance...
Read moreThis park is big enough, you can do jogging there, you can join the others for a soccer match, walk the dogs, etc. But if you plan to go there, please, take precautions, it's a high crime area, try to find friends and family, lots of people, and never go alone! There are guys going there to make sort of party, eating and drinking alcohol, I am not sure if they are allowed to do that, and then the noise and nonsense starts.
