Sometimes by pure luck, someone mentions or recommends a place when you are in the area. This happened to be the case when we visited Alice Art Gallery as we had time to kill, so we were told to look out for this sign.

It was still early morning but they were open along with loadshedding affecting their lovely quaint coffee shop Café d'Art.

We ended up spending so much time here. Loving the quirkiness of the signage all over the premises. Taking a slow walk in the fresh crisp air, taking in the sights and sounds. Walking amongst some STUNNING art pieces which I wish I could afford. Then just looking out at the space, they even have a small kiddies area. The deck of the coffee shop also has its own art pieces, and some lovely plants surrounding it. There is also space inside if you want to sit and stare at the paintings.

It was a no brainer to sit outside. There were only a few other people sitting around. Drinks, we ordered what didn't require electricity, and to eat of course i ordered the carrot cake along with a scone.

Loved the presentation of the scone and its quite big. Although my slice of cake was thin (according to me) it was rich and tasted lovely. Our waitress Precious took her time as she could see we were just enjoying the open space and appreciating the art pieces. We could walk freely between the rooms without someone constantly walking behind you

It's really one of those hidden places that you would not normally pay attention to. I'm so glad we were told to make a stop here. Awesome morning. Stunning art/talent...

The art gallery is lovely eith really fantastic art in it. The patio has a lovely vibe and a great place to sit outside and enjoy the food. We sat in yhe garden because we had 2 little people with us who wanted to run and play. The food was good. We had crumpets and syrup and cream /ice-cream. They were freshly made, the portions were large. Cappuccinos were absolutely excellent. The reason gave it 4 stars and not 5, is because the children's play area (which is what we need) wasn't great. A few items are very old and broken. The sandpit needs to be dug up a bit and new sand added... Maybe the children's area is not their priority.... But...

This has been our favourite place for the last 3 years. Since the very first time we've been there we've loved it. And now 3 years later the staff know's our faces and even know's what we are going to order before we order it. Always friendly service the food is always top of the range thank to the awsome chef in their kitchen. Definitely a must to visit for a...

Small and quirky with a nice variety of South African artists displaying work. Gift shop and cafe (with great quiche and cappuccino) and framing service available too. Also offers independent art lessons with the wonderful Margie Kaufman and guest artists.
