We were a large group that wanted to make this a family outing and we loved seeing the wolves and Kay was so friendly. Then on Saturday afternoon we lit a fire (After we could do nothing on Friday standing in the rain to braai - which is not their fault), and we had music going (Not even loud and it was still early). We received a voice note asking us to turn the music down to a respectful level as 1 or 2 of their older residents were complaining and also that it was not good for the wolves. That damped our mood so much that we ended up just going to bed. The next morning we heard music coming from somewhere else and nothing done about that.
If you are wanting to go see the wolves then go, it is amazing. But I personally don't think that they should rent those chalets out, if they don't want people to have a good time.
The one toilet was blocked and only 1x person could shower all weekend as then there was no more water. Kitchen is behind all everything and the toilets outside. This we could still accept if we had a good time, but we did not.
For the sake of the old people and the wolves rather don't rent out the area for sleep overs.
Attached is also photo's taken from your facebook page where someone is playing a guitar with amps and all (Did they not bother the old people and the wolves) ? Just asking.
Won't see me again ! And my recommendation to other is do not stay over (when it rains you cannot eat there (no enclosed area to braai). Also your shoes have to be off, so walk in the mud to the toilet in the middle of the night (as your shoes are wet from standing outside)

Read moreI really don't understand why there is a wolf sanctuary in South Africa given wolves aren't native to South Africa. Also upon looking at the website, there really is not much information given on the mission of the sanctuary or where the wolves come from/where they go - I would have expected a heavier emphasis on the rehabilitation/sanctuary work & qualifications of the management/staff in the FAQ section. The pricing system, while yes I understand wolves need to be fed and enclosures maintained, is interesting especially since I'm struggling to understand why a volunteer's upkeep would cost 4000ZAR a week. With the lack of accessible online information, I can't help but wonder if this is all under the guise of 'non-profit' to lure tourists in at a conveniently situated location on the...
Read moreMy 1st encounter with Wolves..& it was absolutely amazing. These beautiful animals are so healthy & well cared for in spacious runs with enrichment as their own natural habitats. Thank you to the lovely ladies, who met us, the one was our guide & she was most informed. It was also noted that minus a restaurant & playground it was wonderful & quiet. Ideal for the animals. Although a coffee & cold drink vending machine would have gone down nicely...we shall be back next year & spend more time with you. The curio shop is nice, would love to see more. Till then I am loving my mug!!!Thank you for being an honest & caring haven for these precious animals. The respect you have...
