The host Stasey was really amazing. Sorting out out all our requirements and answering all questions upon our arrival. We stayed at Villa 1, which has accommodation for 2 people. The Villa seems to have been newly renovated, which was just awesome for us, as everything inside was neat and clean, almost unused. The bedding and the bedroom was meticulous. The bathroom was spacious enough for 2 adults simultaneously. The soaps and body wash was amazing, smelt of fresh Flora. The lounge and kitchen area was well arranged. Even the veranda with the chairs and couch was really comfortable. The outdoor hot tub was a hit as well as the Braai area on the veranda. The garden is fully fenced if you have a dog with you. We are definitely going back and taking friends with us. As the Villa 2 situated right next door , has an inter-leading door. Everything was thought about when putting together the Villa. Only issue is that you have to buy a small bag of wood for R50 each to start up the hot tub. And 4 bags(minimum) are recommended for...
Read moreWe recently travelled as a family to Stanford to see the award winning Chelsea Flower Show exhibition. There were 8 of us, so it needed to be able to accommodate all of us in one self catering unit & the manor house at Stanford Hills did that & more. From the moment we arrived, with the no fuss check in, to the beautifully appointed rooms, plenty of firewood for both the internal fireplace & the braai, to the the gorgeous views with good clean country air. The rooms were all well maintained & very clean & we were surprised by the nice touches [ dishwashing tablets, salt & pepper, clean cloths to wash & dry with, & olive oil amongst many others.......you'll be surprised at how many self catering places DO Not provide the basics] Thank you, greatly appreciated! We popped out to the gift shop to by the local vino & some soap made on site. We wish we had booked a second night to really enjoy all this place offers. Will...
Read moreWe really enjoyed the farm and the cottage, but was put off by the thick oily ring around the hot tub and with the water sitting warm and not moving it smelled really bad day 2 so we didn't use the tub again unfortunately which is such a pitty as that is the reason I booked this location. Hopefully in future when we visit another africamps.com the tub would have been clean and scrubbed. I would also have preferred a bigger fridge freezer as all our chicked thawed in the freezer as it was too small to handle the capacity of food. We were however off to another destination so we did have a bit of food to keep frozen, so I would maybe suggest to guests if they are staying longer that 2 days to rather buy their meat locally. Other than that we had a great time walking, greeting the animals, lunch at the restaurant, the owner was so friendly at the restaurant, he gave the kids lollipops and always greeted us with a...
