De Meye wines: no words can describe the taste of wine. You have to taste it. Without in my opinion sounding very silly. (Coffee people doing the same.) If you taste/buy De Meyer wine you think to yourself hmmmmmmm I like it! Good wine! Celebrate at the restaurant! Don't drink the wine you just bought!!! A LARGE TABLE OF FESTIVAL FRIENDS GATHERED AT DE MEYE THIS WEEK FOR A LONG LAZY LUNCH. I'M PERPLEXED ON WHICH TO MENTION FIRST SO IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER.. THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING, GORGEOUS PLATES OF WHOLESOME GOODNESS SHARED AMONGST THE TABLES OF FRIENDS, THE STAFF WERE FANTASTIC, ALWAYS ON HAND AND ATTENTIVE ENSURING GLASSES WHERE FULL AND EMPTY PLATES WERE CLEARED IN A TIMELY FASHION ...AND THEN THE SETTING... TABLES WERE SET UP UNDERNEATH THE EXQUISITE OAK TREES ALONGSIDE THE VINEYARDS.. JUST STUNNING! AND THEY ARE PREPARED FOR EVERY SITUATION, IN THIS CASE.. Beautiful and authentic winery place with restaurant that offers great service and freshest food available. No menus were given only dietary needs were asked. It is ran by a couple that make sure to locally source every ingredient or get the freshest one available in town. In my case, I had a gazpacio (cold tomatoe soup) and white fish as main dish with smashed potatoes, butternut squash and salad. It felt like eating at home in terms of simplicity but also deliciousness. Price-quality was a positive surprise. Finally, the idea of eating outdoors in the garden was just super relaxing. Would recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a good wine, good time...
